Q: What temperature is suitable for PLA bakery clamshells?
A: Standard PLA is designed for cold and room-temperature foods. Products should generally cool below 40–45°C before packing. It is not suitable for microwave-processed or hot-filling.
Q: Can PLA clamshells be refrigerated or frozen?
A: They can be used for refrigerated bakery products after application testing. A 24–72-hour trial is recommended to check condensation, closure and brittleness. Freezer suitability depends on the selected PLA grade.
Q: Can the size and structure be customised?
A: Yes. YiTo Pack can customise the dimensions, lid height, base depth, closure and internal structure. Standard sizes start from around 5,000 pieces, while custom tooling normally starts from 50,000 pieces.
Q: How is product quality controlled?
A: Quality checks cover material documentation, dimensions, transparency, forming consistency, closure fit and final packing. Samples should be approved through product-fitting and stacking tests before mass production.
