Cellophane is a biobased film primarily derived from wood pulp, a renewable resource. Its dense molecular structure provides high clarity, excellent gloss, and effective barriers against gases and oils, which helps to extend the shelf life of packaged products.

Unlike conventional plastics, cellophane is biodegradable and compostable. Under specific industrial composting conditions, it is completely broken down by microorganisms into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass, complying with international compostability standards such as EN 13432 and ASTM D6400. This ensures a sustainable end-of-life solution, completing the cycle from nature back to nature.
