High Quality Mushroom Mycelium Packaging!——Why Choose Mycelium?
YITO Pack's Mushroom Mycelium Packaging, a 100% home compostable and eco-friendly solution crafted for the sustainable future. Available in various sizes and shapes, including squares and circles, to fit a multitude of products.
Known for its high cushioning and rebound properties, it ensures maximum protection for your goods. Despite its premium quality, it's competitively priced, making it an ideal choice for businesses looking to reduce their environmental impact without breaking the bank.
Mycelium packaging is fully home-compostable and biodegrades within 30–45 days in natural conditions. Unlike conventional plastics that persist for centuries, mycelium decomposes cleanly, returning to the earth without leaving microplastics or harmful residues.
This material is grown, not synthetically produced. It’s made by combining agricultural by-products (e.g., hemp hurds, corn stalks) with mushroom mycelium—the root structure of fungi. The mycelium binds the waste into a dense, foam-like matrix, eliminating the need for petroleum, chemicals, or energy-intensive processing.
Thanks to its natural fibrous network, mycelium packaging offers excellent cushioning and resilience. It can be molded into complex 3D shapes, making it suitable for protecting fragile and high-value items like electronics, cosmetics, ceramics, or glassware during shipping and storage.
Mycelium foam is an ideal fit for industries seeking eco-conscious packaging alternatives, including:
-
Consumer electronics: laptops, phones, appliances
-
E-commerce: sustainable unboxing experience
-
Luxury goods: wine bottles, skincare, candles
-
Heavy industry: precision parts, small machinery
Its thermal insulation, lightweight nature, and mechanical strength make it adaptable to multiple supply chain requirements.
This packaging is a sustainable alternative to EPS (expanded polystyrene), PU (polyurethane), and vacuum-formed plastic trays. Unlike biodegradable plastics that often require industrial composting, mycelium breaks down in home compost. It contains no synthetic binders, petrochemicals, or toxic additives.

Industries That Use Mushroom Packaging
Mushroom mycelium packaging is rapidly gaining traction across multiple industries seeking sustainable, high-performance alternatives to traditional plastics and foams.
In the wine and spirits sector, it provides molded bottle cradles that are both protective and visually appealing—ideal for premium and non-alcoholic beverages.
For e-commerce and electronics, it replaces EPS with shock-resistant, custom-fit solutions for fragile items like gadgets and accessories.
In cosmetics and personal care, the natural texture and biodegradability of mycelium align perfectly with clean beauty branding, offering elegant trays for skincare or fragrance.
Mycelium is also used in eco-branding displays, including compostable product trays and retail packaging for environmentally conscious brands.
Finally, in the gift and luxury packaging market, mycelium elevates presentation while reinforcing zero-waste values, making it a standout option for artisanal food kits, seasonal hampers, and corporate gifts.
Production process of mycelium packaging
After the growth tray is filled with a mixture of hemp rods and mycelium raw materials, in part when the mycelium begins to bind together with the loose substrate, pods are set and grow for 4 days.
After removing the parts from the growth tray, the parts are placed on the shelf for another 2 days. This step creates a soft layer for mycelium growth.
Finally, the parts are partially dried so that the mycelium no longer grows. No spores are produced during this process.
